Your mind boggles on traditional things such as the legendary dream catcher which are handmade one a willow hoop, which is weaved like a beautiful spider web. Theses majestic symbols of unity among the various Indian Nations have been said to be hung above your bed uses a charm to protect sleeping children from nightmares. Only good dreams will imbue your mind as you sleep. Your pesky nightmares would stay in the web, vanishing with the light of day.

As your good dreams filter through this web of tranquility sliding down the exquisite feathers to sleeper to become the dreamer, your catcher is a guard against your nightmares. Legend has it that all your good dreams will pass through the center hole to the sleeping person, whilst the bad dreams are trapped in the net, where they perish at dawn. Are dream catchers your body guard against bad dreams? Or are they just a plot to put your mind at ease.

So who can tell you otherwise? When you’re coherent, it’s just another item in your home. However, let your unconscious mind reflect your thoughts, which eventually spark your dreams.

Dream catchers are handmade objects of willow hoop and woven with net to form a web. It is decorated with feather and beads and it originated from Ojibwa Nation. It used to be a symbol of unity for Indian nations.

Original dream catchers are made from willow and sinew and they are not made to last for a long time, unlike the ones that are commercially made. It should hang above children’s bed to protect them from night terrors and nightmares. It is said that it should be hung directly above the sleeping person because the dream catcher catches bad dreams and allows only good dreams to go through then let it slide down the feathers to the sleeping person underneath. Overall, dream catchers are like filters of dream.

One Lakota legend has it that dream catcher also delivers visions and ideas to the sleeping person. It plants directly to the subconscious mind of the person during its most receptive phase. This will help the sleeping person in getting ready for future incidents that are waiting to happen thus he can act accordingly when the time comes
