Come to Midrash

Posted By admin on February 8th, 2011

I am alone. Standing in the dark. I don’t feel a sense of emotion.
A dark hand reaches towards me, hands me a thick black book as he pulls me in closer.
“Come to Midrash”, his words are clear. His robed sleeve leaves me.

I wake up wondering what is Midrash. Surely Hebrew but a word I am not yet familiar with. Daylight breaks with a question in mind. What is Midrash? “Where did you hear this word?” “In my dream” I responded. “A Beit Midrash is a house of hebrew bible studies.”
As I retold the dream he smiled and said “it doesn’t surprise me”. Didn’t surprise me either this wasn’t the first time I had dreamed in Hebrew recently but it was the first time I heard a word I did not recognize in my dream. Midrash. I’d been summoned to come to Midrash by an unknown messenger. A subconscious gesture of my curious mind?

Psychic Dreams

Posted By admin on August 22nd, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/08/psychic-dreams/

Psychic dreams occur when the dreamer experiences something that is close to premonition or precognitive dreams wherein the dreamer is able to know certain information that is otherwise unavailable for them. Psychic dreams always have mysticism surrounding it and while there are real occurrences of the said phenomenon varying from one person’s account to another, a handful of people fiercely claim to be a professional in this field which naturally garnered followers and critics too.

However, the term “psychic dreams” is a very general term and it has its own set of types to differentiate one experience from another. The most popular of which is the precognitive dreams. Precognitive dreams have been popular due to the fact that almost all people got the chance to experience it at least once in a lifetime. Most reported cases involve regular, normal people who happen to experience precognitive dreams without them inducing it. Precognitive dreams happen before the event itself.

Ghosts

Posted By admin on August 16th, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/08/ghosts/

Ghosts are believed to be spirits or souls of dead people who are yet to experience heaven or hell. For reasons unknown, experts believe that these souls stayed behind long after the body is laid to rest and they are unable to move forward to where they must belong now. Experts believed that some of the reasons why lost souls stayed behind are:

·    The dead person might not be aware of his current situation and has been living his life still by doing his everyday routine without interference. This usually happens when the person experienced sudden death for which he was not fully aware. An example of sudden death is when a person died while asleep.
·    Unfinished business can also be a reason why a ghost preferred to stay behind. It was believed that every person has his own mission to do in his lifetime. Not finishing it will only make the soul restless and unable to move on.
·    Strong association to the place or things will hinder a ghost’s ability to move on especially if these are their priceless possessions or if the place played a significant role in their once-lived lives. This explains why ghosts manifest in their old houses or even in places of their deaths.
·    Others believed that some ghosts even refuse to move on since they fear they will meet hell due to wrongdoings they committed while alive.
·    Asian cultures have it that ghosts of loved-ones will manifest if a person is nearing death himself. This belief happens when a dying person is supposedly fetched by his loved-one so the dying person’s soul won’t have to be alone during his journey to after life.

Premonitions

Posted By admin on August 9th, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/08/premonitions/

Have you ever experienced seeing something happen, perhaps in your dream, only to be notified that your dream came true after a day or so? For most people, premonitions come once or twice in a person’s lifetime while few others experience them on a regular basis. Back then, these people are called as prophet or prophetess and they are revered and well-respected by people. Nowadays, they are called as psychics and sadly, they are not as popular as they once have been.

It was said that premonitions happen all the time, although they sometimes don’t manifest as clearly as to others would be. Some who prefer to romanticize the whole affair of premonition would say that it only manifests when a certain event will happen to someone you love or who is very dear to you, like a tie that binds a mother to her child, it forms a certain level of intuition or gut-feel which almost always results to premonitions of things before they actually happen to a person.

Angel Therapy

Posted By admin on August 4th, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/08/angel-therapy/

Angels are believed to be messengers of God. Time and again they’re sent to Earth when God needs something to be done by a mortal. They also come when they need to rely messages from God and guide that person to stay on the right path as well. They are God’s right hand, His bodyguard and His overall assistant.

According to the Holy Bible, an angel manifested before Mary, the mother of God’s Son Jesus, to notify her of an anticipated pregnancy even if she’s a virgin. All throughout the history, angels are known to exist in various religions from Islam to Hinduism. Of course, each religion has their own views regarding the existence and value of an angel and how they affect our lives. On the other hand, old wives’ tale has it that angels are assigned each time a baby is born. They’re sent to keep the baby safe and secure until he can fully do things on his own. These angels are then called as our guardian angels.

Reincarnation

Posted By admin on August 1st, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/08/reincarnation/

Reincarnation is a popular belief that when the physical body of the person dies, its soul will still stay the same but would be reborn to another physical body to live yet another lifetime. This cycle just goes on and on as one lifetime expires and another one begins. Reincarnation has been prevalent among Indian or Hindu culture then and now. Since it was adapted by various sectors and branches of religion, it also underwent slight variations from one another. Fortunately, the essence of reincarnation stayed pretty much the same as the original form.

The idea of reincarnation has been around for quite some time now. Its presence can be traced as far as ancient times when beliefs were just forming and people were seeking for something to believe in. Even the concept of rebirth is acknowledged by Buddhists although not reincarnation as a whole.

Out-of-body Experience

Posted By admin on July 22nd, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/07/out-of-body-experience/

Out-of-Body experience or OBE is best described as a sensation in which a person most likely feels going out of his own physical body and observing it from afar. This experience is also referred to as astral projection wherein it was said that one could travel from one place to another without moving the physical body. To better understand out-of-body experience, it is when the soul leaves the body for some time, intentionally and otherwise.

Out-of-body experiences can occur under many different circumstances. Some reported cases were brought forward claiming that OBE can be achieved during deep sleep or in altered state of mind such as under the influence of a drug. Furthermore, cases of OBE were reported alongside NDE or near-death experiences which often go hand-in-hand. Others have already mastered the ability to induce OBE when they want to.

Near-Death Experience

Posted By admin on July 4th, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/07/near-death-experience/

There is no proven scientific basis for NDE or near-death experience; in fact, the term was even included in most skeptic dictionaries in and out of the internet but still many people swear by it, insisting that NDE is true and they did experience it first-hand.

People who claim to have experienced this phenomenon vary widely in recollection. Some may even recall seeing a bright light that’s very far from where they stood while some saw their whole life being replayed before them–right from the day they were born up to the last scene they saw prior to NDE. Almost half of those who experienced NDE also went through OBE or out-of-body experience wherein they saw their own bodies being operated on or surrounded by doctors in attempt to revive their consciousness. These experiences were reported by those who have nearly died or actually stopped breathing for some time only to come back to life afterwards.

Horoscope

Posted By admin on June 30th, 2009

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/06/horoscope/

Horoscopes are predictions of our future based on the positions of planets in relation to other astrological manifestations. It is a Greek word meaning “a look at the hours” while in Latin, it means “observer of the hour”. When used in astrology, it pertains to the chart or diagram which represents the position of astrological bodies. On the other hand, due to the nature of which it is used, the term horoscope now refers to as the astrologers’ prediction itself.

The most common form of horoscope we know today is the one which relies on the sun’s placement in accordance to one’s birthdate. Through which, the astrologer’s predictions are generally based on “star signs” for a certain group of people, or at least the closest estimation of which. In general, there are twelve sets which people are grouped together according to their birthdates. These twelve sets correspond to the twelve Zodiac signs we’re all familiar of. Naturally, every person belongs to one sign but there are some who were born in between signs hence they are considered in cusp. When you’re in a cusp, you enjoy a little bit of both signs or so it seems.
