Daydreams

http://www.dreamsemantics.com/2009/02/daydreams/

Daydreams are visionary fantasies experienced while awake.  Daydreams are usually about happy thoughts, ambitions, hopes and wishes.  Although it is not uncommon for people to have violent daydreams.  Daydreams, as the word connotes happen while the dreamer is awake.  This means that even though he is in a dream like trance, he is in fact fully conscious.

People who are daydreaming seem like they are just staring off into space.  Daydreams may also take the form of a “train of thought” that leads the dreamer off his surroundings while following these trains of thought.  External stimulus like shaking the dreamer is usually an effective way of “waking up” the daydreamer, akin to waking up a slumbering person.

Psychologists’ research has found that people who are involved in “boring” work often engage in daydreams.  Most males also tend to daydream sexual fantasies.  Findings also suggest that creative and artistic people like to daydream.  Artists, writers painters and such spend a lot of time daydreaming.
