Being chased in a dream – Running from ourselves
It was dark and cold, the type of feeling that just wraps your body in chills and your body becomes in a state of shock. Of course the darkness wasn’t what you should fear. Nor was the freezing air that enclosed this dark space.
Your heart beat is going faster by every minute, causing you to breathe harder. It’s so cold that every breathe you take is like swallowing broken glass. All of a sudden you see it, a light. It’s dim, and fuzzy, like a candle just before the flame takes its last blaze. You start to realize that you have been running this whole time; your mind has blocked out that you were even running, because you were just so cold, seeking any type of light that would save you from the darkness.
You have in your mind that someone, or something is chasing you. As your mind sends shock waves to your legs to keep running towards this dim light from a far, your backside is filled with fear that whatever is chasing you, would catch you. Mind blank, no sound to be heard, body numb, your eyes only set on this blurry vision of light and nothing else.
You stop; the light is right in front of you. It is a candle, your alone and not even tired from the run, just exhausted from the fear. You turn around, back towards the candle, and there is no one; nothing is sight. You look down, and discover you have been running away from your shadow; yourself.
